Careful what you wish for...

I think Mother Nature got tired of everyone Dreaming of a White Christmas and said, "Here you go America!"

I don't think a person reading this blog went unaffected by this snowstorm. People in the East are laughing at our wimpy two-foot snow drifts, but that's OK, our mini-blizzard caused problem enough.

We went to Wellsville to spend Christmas Eve with my Mom and Dad, siblings, and grandparents; which worked out REALLY well because no one was able to get to Mom and Dad's on Christmas Day...the roads were drifted shut.

The ice storm moving in on Christmas Eve in Wellsville

Blizzard winding up to dump about 9 - 10 inches of snow and enormous snow drifts. It took us a long time to get home (complete with nail biting and Ethan playing 1000 Questions about driving in blizzards) that night.

The result 48 hours later, when it FINALLY quit snowing!

Ethan said, "Mom I'll scoop these snow drifts out of the driveway!"

Our Portuguese neighbors got stuck as much as we did trying to get up our cul-de-sac. So they towed the Odyssey up to our house, then Phil showed said neighbors what a redneck is by doing donuts in the cul-de-sac (under the pretense of "packing down the snow").

Christmas Eve

What's a little Kramer Christmas Fun without harrassing Grandpa Richard? This is what he always calls a "knuckle sandwhich".

Ethan got his remote-controlled buggy

Grandma Bettye brought out bags and bags full of awesome presents!!! Thanks Grandma!

Brad and Carissa were lucky enough to make it to Wellsville that evening before heading on to Wichita

Grammy and Evan (and Evan's messy face)

Sheridan got her horse stable from Grammy and Grandpa Tracy. Excited is an understatement!

I made them take this picture three times because Grandpa was scowling so badly in the 1st two. They gave us all scarves, mittens, and baked goods - Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

We had the Frick Family over for Christmas Day this year. Here is Grandpa Cecil with Evan (who was being a good sport about pictures so had several taken). This is Cecil's 93rd Christmas.

Aaahhhh. Sitting down after a long day of cooking, eating, and celebrating. What a great life we have. I am sincerely grateful for the good things that have happened to me. I look at the bad things as a way of keeping me from taking those good things for granted. Somehow, despite nasty weather, we still got to see every single family member and spend time with loved ones.

  1. This is one of my favorite posts!! Fantastic photos!! And, WOW, what awesome Santa presents. We missed you this New Years. Here's to getting to see you more frequently in 2010. And, great job with the poem! You should challenge Nate to dueling poetry readings!!
