(New Meh'-hee-ko)
Phil and I took a little trip to New Mexico last week, just to get away and not have a schedule, kids to bathe, or arguments to break up. We stayed in Red River, about 8000 feet up, and traveled into Taos, Dixon (wineries), and mostly out into the middle of nowhere.
View from our little back porch early one morning....
Hike down to the convergence of the Rio Grande and Red Rivers. It was hot in the canyon!
See that itty-bitty path between the two rivers? That is where we hiked down to. I actually sat on a rock in the middle of the Rio Grande. It was a 2-hour round-trip hike.
The two Rivers combine into the Rio Grande right here.

Beautiful formation
Sacred mountain. And right by the Vivac Winery.

I found a shady spot!
Volcano in eastern NM that erupted 60,000 years ago - we went down in the crater - you can see a tiny building up top that we drove up to.

Pretty Kansas sunset taken on the drive home. :)
