Life in a Townhome....
We have been in our townhome for 1 week. What an adjustment. To fit 9 years of house into a storage unit and a garage. Wow. Thank God it's only for 4 more weeks. The nice people here at least let us have a 3 bedroom for 2 months at regular rate - a rarity in this type of housing.
I get to create my "dream" landscape in a few weeks. I mean really make it just like I want it. I had probably about 100 plants (55 were daylilies since my Grandma Bettye "collects" them) at my old home and dug about 60 total to bring to the next house. I JUST couldn't part with some. So guess what? There are 60 Price Chopper bags full of plants around the shadiest part of our townhome. Then I went out and bought about 10 more shrubs just to make it interesting. Well I want to be ready to plant!
We made a quick friend. A "wild" toad. I have several pots sitting near the front door. Every day he burrows into one of two pots (he is picky), crawls out in the evening to catch bugs by the door, then burrows again in the a.m. He is there, a very reliable friend and very tame. He prefers to be petted between his eyes and never hops away.
Other than that it is business as usual - work, gymnastics, soccer, park visits, and frequent outings so we aren't all cramped in this place. We have no cable, just a few DVDs, so the kids are finding new creative ways to entertain themselves. I am not. I miss my evening TV!
Will put up pics of the new house after awhile. I wanted to put up "Last of Days: Memories From Meadowsweet" on my blog but those pics are all packed away on our computer; now we just have the laptop. Oh well. I'll make "New Beginnings" soon. Bye!!!
Stop making me sooo sad! I love the toad bit, he sounds like he might need to move with you to the new house. I can't wait to see how the new house is coming along! We are getting ready to leave on Sunday, but the kids and I will be back on the 10th to meet the packers on the 11th. It is going to be a crazy couple of weeks for us! I am looking forward to a vineyard meeting with you and Phil sometime!
