Pumpkins and Trick or Treating

Daddy helped Sheridan and Ethan carve their pumpkins; they got to pick out their own face designs, completely without guidance from us. Encourage creativity!

Ethan was trying to show us he wanted an angry pumpkin, "like this Dad!"

Sheridan is not usually squeamish, but sticking her hand in a slimy pumpkin about did her in.

And Evan certainly wasn't going to stick his hand in the pumpkin. Sheridan had to coax him this far!

Doesn't Evan make a cute teddy bear? My grandma Bettye says he has the perfect shape for it - how true! Oh and there's Sheridan's pumpkin on the left - she wanted a geometric motif.

Sitting by the jack-o-lantern about two seconds before he realized what it was....then he got scared and toddled away! It's so hard to get still shots of 1-year olds! :)

Friday night we went to Wellsville and trick-or-treated the grandparents and great-grandparents. Cammy and Carrie met us down there - see the little dragon? They were all so good; and so hopped up on sugar.

Grandma Virginia and Grandpa Richard loved that the kids all stopped by. Forgot to mention Sheridan was a horse, costume made by Grandma Bettye! Look at grandpa smiling - boy ain't that rare.

Then here is Grandma "Batty" (thank you Ethan) with her great-grandchildren! They are so adorable.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, relaxing with Grandpa Tracy while watching "Scooby Doo Halloween".

This is Halloween night. Mom, Jon, Carrie and Cam came over and we had a lovely pot of chili and pear-apple crisp before heading out. Evan was so done with pictures and costumes by then!
Jon was standing beside me and said, "you want a picture with Evan crying in it?" The simple answer is, "he probably wouldn't stop anyway, and the energy it would take to make him smile just wouldn't be worth it by then!" :)
