Mom's Day
I somehow didn't get any pictures taken for Mother's Day. But I wanted to share what I got and how very, very fortunate I am to be me.
Phil sneaked the kids out to Earl May on Saturday and they all bought me what they thought would be my favorite flowers. This has become a yearly tradition and I love it. Sheridan always gets me something in my favorite color - purple. Ethan always reads the tag and buys the most interesting-sounding plant. This is so Ethan...he bought me "Catmint" this year because he liked the name. Evan pointed to some bright red petunias, so I got those from him. And Phil gave me a gift card so I could get my bird feeder.
I had also wanted a bird bath, which I had apparently mentioned to my mother at some point, so she got me a gorgeous bright blue one for my backyard. I love it! My sister bought me an enormous margarita on Saturday which was much-needed and deserved. :)
And though I didn't see my mother-in-law for Mother's Day, I want her to know that I value our relationship and I think it's a rare one! Truly! Happy Mother's Day Judy! You did a terrific job with your son by the way. He is so well trained. And to my sister-in-law Christie, you've had a tough job for the past 4 years but have done awesome. My niece and nephew are just the cutest!
I will never take my family for granted. I know how fortunate I am to have these women in my life, and I will never assume that everyone else is just as lucky.
