This was Ethan's 1st friend birthday party. We decided to keep it small and simple. I had no idea what to do with all boys, so we mixed in a little (OK, a lot of) outdoor play, tag, pizza-making, brownies, and prizes (which contained whistles, army cars, and parachute guys). I won't be buying whistles again.
His buddies right now are Erik, Caden, and Andrew (known since birth). There were a few other boys in his Kindergarten class that I think he wanted to invite; I have observed said boys and kindly coaxed Ethan into "maybe another time". Am I a bad parent?
