Giving Thanks

When life hands you so many good things so often, it is tempting to just take those things for granted and go about daily life. One thing I attempt to do, at least daily, is remember how good I have it. There are days when I am stressed, exhausted, and rather negative in thought. I try to picture my life differently, without my family, without Phil and the kids, without gainful employment, without my house, without friends, and without hope. Only then do I realize that in the grand scheme of life, I am, without a doubt, in the best place I can be in my life. And then I am thankful for all I have worked for and been given.

On a lighter note, Ethan had to write up a recipe in Kindergarten. His assignment was to write down his mother's turkey-making recipe, as he saw it. It was so cute and so Ethan that I had to share:
"To cook a turkey, we go buy a 6 lb turkey from Price Chopper. We bring the turkey home and put it in the freezer. When my mom starts to cook the turkey she takes the feathers off. My mom then puts a little salt on the turkey. Next, my Mom cooks the turkey in the microwave for 15 minutes at 300 degrees. Finally we get to eat the turkey with bread and butter."

I am impressed. Think I may try that. I am very interested in microwaved turkey, it would be SO much easier!

Happy Thanksgiving to every important person in my life.
